What to Expect When Building a New Home

We don’t expect you to know the process — that’s our job. But to give you a rough idea, here’s how a new build usually plays out when you work with us:

1. First conversation

It all starts with a chat. You might have plans already, or you might just have a section and a bit of a vision. Either way, we’ll sit down with you, ask the right questions, and help figure out what’s realistic — and if we’re a good fit for the job.

2. Planning and pricing

Once we’ve got a bit of direction, we’ll work through the plans with you (or with your architect, if you’ve got one on board) and start putting together a clear quote. We’ll always be upfront about costs and timelines — no hidden extras, no surprises.

3. Getting the paperwork sorted

Once the plans are locked in, we get cracking on the building consents and get everything lined up so we’re ready to roll when council gives us the green light.

4. Time to build

Once we’re on site, that’s when the real work begins. We’re on the tools, managing the crew, and keeping you in the loop the whole way. If anything unexpected pops up — which can happen — we’ll talk it through and figure it out with you.

5. Handover

Once it’s all finished, we’ll do a proper walkthrough with you, make sure everything’s looking sharp, and hand over the keys. And even after that, if something comes up or you’ve got questions, we’re always just a phone call away.

Every build’s a bit different, but the way we go about it stays the same — straight-up communication, solid planning, and doing the job properly from start to finish. That’s how we build. That’s how we like to work.
